The fluffiest pancakes you can imagine — locals rave about their classic buttermilk pancakes. The signature coffee draws patrons in with its bold yet balanced flavor, a perfect start to any meal. Many diners adore the Western omelette, packed full of flavor, making it a staple on the breakfast menu. The use of fresh ingredients — no prepackaged items here — makes a noticeable difference. The cozy, family-owned vibe lends to an authentic dining experience that resonates with visitors and residents alike. Plus, the availability of vegetarian options ensures diverse choices for all diets, enhancing its appeal to a broad crowd.
Most Disliked
Some guests mention that the restaurant can get quite busy, especially on weekends around 10 AM, leading to longer wait times during peak hours. The lack of air conditioning in the summer may be a concern for some, but the presence of fans helps to create a comfortable atmosphere. A few diners have noted that while the dishes are delightful, they can occasionally run out of popular items during very busy brunch hours. Limited dinner service hours also disappoint those seeking breakfast fare later in the day. Lastly, while the restaurant accepts reservations, popular times often fill up quickly, which can be frustrating for spontaneous visits.

I had the fluffiest Western Omelette, with pancakes on the side. Absolutely wonderful. Mom had the Apple Waffle with apple syrup. It had apple piece's cooked in it and cinnamon apples on top. Just mouth watering good. We love coming here for breakfast or lunch. So many delicious dishes it's hard to choose. Our waitress was very sweet. The coffee is also very good, not weak or to strong. Just right. If you love pancakes or crepes this is the place! They also have a few other menu items for the regulars, omelettes, eggs, toast, bacon, etc. Just try it I'm sure you will find something for everyone.

Intimate, home kitchen style dining room with very friendly service. All the food is made from scratch - no cans or frozen ingredients. Southern favorite with a Latin vibe. No a/c but with fans the experience was still good.

You can get a whole meal's worth of whole foods here! Highly recommend the poached eggs and the oatmeal with banana slices. Also, it feels good to support a small, family-owned business.

No wait at 10am on a Monday. Coffee is bold, but not bitter. I had banana pancakes with a side of crispy bacon. The bacon was crispy as ordered and not too salty. The pancakes were cooked perfectly and the tropical syrup was great. My wife had the Santa Fe omelette with a side of crispy bacon. The omelette was piping hot. They serve breakfast on porcelain plates that kept the food warmer longer.

This place was GOLD. Soak in the Mexican restaurant vibes and then enjoy some seriously delicious country breakfast! We didn’t regret anything we ordered and for a great price you get some of everything. We can’t wait to come back.

After 16 months of living in Cookeville, I tried grandma’s pancake house this morning. It was crazy busy, but I was seated within five minutes of arriving and the service was excellent and the food was over the top amazing. The portions are huge and I felt like I was very well taken care of! I will be back.
